About Me

My Professional Journey

The path that led me to my comfortable office in Daniels, WV was both straightforward and unexpectedly winding. Commencing my college journey as a math education major, I followed in the footsteps of my mother, a retired high school calculus teacher. Yet, it wasn't long before I discerned that accounting would be a more captivating application of my mathematical prowess. With this realization, I shifted my academic focus, eventually graduating with honors from Concord College. After passing the CPA exam, I diligently worked for a regional accounting firm, and ascended their ranks to become an auditing and accounting supervisor.

During my tenure at the firm, I gained invaluable exposure to a diverse range of industries such as banking, entertainment, natural resources, healthcare, agriculture, and retail. My proficiency expanded to encompass various aspects including financial statement presentation, taxation, nonprofit auditing, and internal control assessments.

Genesis of Michele R. Davis, CPA

In the latter part of 2010, destiny guided me toward a new avenue—one that would enable me to nurture my maternal role while advancing my professional journey. This is when I inaugurated the office of Michele R. Davis, CPA, situated within a thoughtfully revamped public-school building. Serendipitously, the very same building where I had attended 7th, 8th, and 9th grades.

A decade later, I relocated my growing practice to better serve my clients. Now, from a quaint green building with the notable orange door, my staff and I work for nearly five hundred businesses and individuals. We prepare the income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals while also processing the payroll and posting the books for dozens of small businesses.

My Modus Operandi

My upbringing was a fusion of rural life and religious devotion, instilling within me a resolute work ethic and a profound bond with my community. I firmly believe that the most meaningful professional connections are nurtured through a firm handshake and a genuine smile. Please consider this an open invitation to drop by and share a greeting at your convenience. Visitors are received warmly, and our coffee pot is always brimming.
